WELCOME to Free Spirit Kennels.  My husband and I have been breeding Yorkshire Terrier puppies for twelve years and Maltese puppies for eight. What started out as a hobby... has now turned into a full time hobby!

We began raising Yorkie babies and then a friend introduced me to the Maltese breed.  Well, I fell in love with them too.  Now we have this wonderful combination family that is just a joy to be a part of. There is never a dull moment in our home.

We are a professionally operated kennel in Cartersville, Georgia specializing in producing premium Yorkshire Terrier and Maltese puppies.  We produce healthy, happy, and well-socialized puppies in a very clean and well maintained facility.

We are continuously learning and increasing our knowledge regarding both of our breeds for the betterment of the breed. We feel that our responsibility as breeders is a lifetime of commitment, honor, and respect to the breed standard. This includes each and every adult and puppy that becomes a part of our family and yours.  The small size of our facility enables us to give each dog and puppy individual care and attention on a daily basis. 

We have three daughters, one daughter in-law, two sons and six grandchildren. Our entire family participates in the process of raising and caring for our sweet furry friends.

Our mission is to continually improve the quality standard for both of our breeds.  Some are show quality, although I do not always get show quality puppies with each litter.  It is unknown whether a puppy will be show quality until at least six months of age. A great deal depends on what type of nurturing and training the puppy receives after it leaves my care. 

We strive to produce small puppies but most importantly we work to stay within the size guidelines of each breed standard. This will result in healthy, strong mature pets that will make a loyal, and loving companion for many years to come.  All of our dogs and puppies are registered with the American Kennel Club.
